About & Approach

Making Complex Stories Human

My name is Luis. I’m a digital communications professional and multimedia producer with more than a decade of experience developing visual content and communications strategies for organizations, businesses, and individuals.

My work bridges creative production and strategic communication, translating specialized information into accessible, engaging stories for diverse audiences.

From nonprofit fundraising campaigns and documentary storytelling to educational social media content, I focus on helping audiences understand not just what an organization does, but why its work matters.

John Fenner’s Dishroom

DC Central Kitchen / 2023
Storytelling / Fundraising / Nonprofit Communications

Produced as part of DC Central Kitchen’s 2023 spring appeal, this short documentary tells the story of John Fenner, a longtime employee who overcame homelessness and substance use and dedicated 21 years to the organization’s mission.

As DC Central Kitchen prepared to relocate from its longtime home in a homeless shelter’s basement to the newly constructed Klein Center, the film introduced supporters to the individual whose name would grace the facility’s new dishroom.

COMMUNICATIONS OBJECTIVE

Connect an individual story of resilience and dedication to a major organizational milestone and fundraising initiative.

Marianne Ali

Through culinary education, professional mentorship, and workforce development, Marianne helped individuals facing barriers to employment build skills and pursue careers in the hospitality industry.

The film documents her contributions to the organization and the community she served.
